Arkansas History Hub Online Course
The past few months, we’ve worked with AETN and ArkansasIDEAS to develop an online course for teachers to learn more about the Hub from the comfort of their own home or classroom. As of November 9th, this course went live on the ArkansasIDEAS website. Below is an except from the posting on the IDEAS website. But just to supplement the description below, let me provide a few extra details. The course is about two hours long and features video demonstrations of simple tasks, all the way to some of the more complex features of the Hub. While the mundane details of how to maneuver the site are thoroughly covered, we also talk a bit about the events that led to the creation of the Hub.
This IDEAS COURSE features Josh Jenkins, Technical Director for The Arkansas History Hub and Digital Media Specialist for the Department of Arkansas Heritage. Josh presents an overview and training of the Arkansas History Hub (The Hub). The Hub’s mission is to improve the quality of Arkansas history education across the state by providing comprehensive access to online resources, as well as facilitating the open exchange of ideas and materials between teachers, institutions, and history professionals. Support for The Hub is provided by the Arkansas Community Foundation, the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, and The Department of Arkansas Heritage.
To earn your PD credit, simply click on the COURSE, watch the videos, pass the assessment, and take the survey.
