  • R.E.A.L. Econ For ALL!

    REAL Econ for All is the First Annual Economics and Personal Finance Education Conference hosted by Economics Arkansas. During this two-day symposium, more than 30 teaching experts will provide standards-based instruction on how to integrate economics into math, literacy, civics, history, and more. Presenters will include Master Economics Teachers, university professors from Economics Arkansas’ six Centers of Economic Education and representatives from government agencies and private industry. Upon successful completion, conference participants will receive up to 12 hours of ADE certified professional development, including two hours of Arkansas history credit is available; grade-level appropriate lesson plans and classroom materials, and a $75 stipend per day.



  • Arkansas Studies Bouquet: Mix of Free Resources and History Topics

    This workshop offers a variety of helpful resources that will facilitate the teaching of Arkansas studies frameworks. Topics include the following: American Indians of Arkansas, Entrepreneurs of Arkansas, Arkanstories graphic novel, the Arkansas History Hub, helpful websites for Arkansas Studies and more! Free resources (such as maps, games, posters, etc.) will be provided for participants!



  • Quantrill / Northwest Arkansas: Bound By Battle

    This presentation will reveal unbelievable and long forgotten or unknown history that will change Civil War history in northwest Arkansas forever! Nine years ago, one name was found that would change Civil war history in northwest Arkansas for all time! The border war landscape of Kansas and Missouri will be revealed like never before in Arkansas and all educators and students will benefit from this chapter in Arkansas history in one way or another! Additionally, handouts containing this new information will be handed out to anyone who would like to add it to their own research or records! Teachers, educators, students and genealogists are encouraged to attend!



  • Opening of the “Quantrill Special Collections Research” in Benton County

    The opening of the very first library special collections based solely on William Quantrill, his Confederate guerrillas and the Kansas-Missouri border wars as a whole! This collection is the first of it’s kind and will be housed inside the Gentry Public Library in Gentry, Benton County, Arkansas. The opening will help forever change Civil War history in northwest Arkansas as new details regarding soldiers buried in Benton, Washington, Carroll and Madison counties will be the foundation for this unique and one of a kind collection! Books, computer cds, DVDs, genealogy and historic artifacts will reeducate teachers, students and the general public about the Civil war history in the area!
